Music Video Premiere
A year ago I produced a music video for the new album song "Eine Sekunde von mir" of the new album "Herzton" by Poenitsch&Jakopic two very talented musicians from Munich.
They gave me total artistic freedom. It is pure, experimental and different – conceptualized, shot and composed with love and detailed delicacies. I still love it – and still saying this one year after makes me very happy!
Today is the Pre Release Party of the Song at the nightclub Harry Klein in Munich... so let's collect some seconds and have a look!

Premiere
Don't forget!! Two more days until Premiere... take your Mum to cinema for mother's day!! See you on Sunday!

Später Sommer | Late Summer MOVIE PREMIERE
Since 2008 me and my dear friend and colleague Evamaria Schaller were working on this documentary film, and now it will have it's premiere on the 13th of May in Austria at the Cinema Paradiso. I am so very excited and looking so much forward to it! Would be great to meet you there!
BOOK | DIRECTION | MONTAGE | PRODUCTION Evamaria SCHALLER / Nadja WEBER
How does it feel to be old? How do you live here and now, if your future is shorter than your past? The documentary film shows four 80 year old people in their everydaylife. Every one of them surprises in his special Way. A very intimate Portrait behind the walls of being the olderst generation alive.
The debutfilm from the austrian filmmakers Evamaria Schaller and Nadja Weber is about an issue that will concern everyone of us some day: Being old. Through very young eyes the filmmakers show a very human and surprisingly naturalistic portrait. Especially the openess from the protagonists allows a very private insight into the life and hopes of the elderly.

The best exotic marigold hotel
A wonderful cast (JUDY DENCH | BILL NIGHY | PENELOPE WILTON | DEV PATEL ...), wonderful british humor, wonderful indian colors. It was my personal "be-as-happy-as-you-can-be-after-a-movie" since Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain.
The very best marigold hotel is a movie which makes you want to grow old or go to India immediately. Or both. I just love the positive attitude that turns you into a complete optimist.
My favorite line: "Everything will be all right in the end... if it's not all right, then it's not the end."

Opposites attract | Video Trailer
Opposites Attract from Sarah Pfeiffer on Vimeo.
One loves freedom and being spontaneous – the other is stucked in her own controlled world. What happens when they meet each other?
---
My sister is a vertical rope artist and my husband is a musician. When my sister Sarah had the premiere of her first big show I was honored to produce the video trailer for her cirque noveau show called OPPOSITES ATTRACT. My husband Tobi Weber composed the music and did the audio design. Therefore it turned into a beautiful family project.
Sarah Pfeiffer did this very new and fresh show together with her circus team colleague Josefine Rheinfurth. They wrote, directed and performed OPPOSITES ATTRACT all by themselves and their Premiere in Berlin was a huge success.
It is a very touching and astonishing debut of these two talented young female rope artists. It raises great laughter and opens space for very deep moments at the same time. This new generation of artists have a very sophisticated way to express their view of the world within cirque noveau. The typeanimation and the sounddesign should give a brief insight what this theatre piece has to offer…
Future performances to be announced at pfeiffersarah.com

Carnage | Roman Polanski
This week is last weeks screening of the film CARNAGE (Gott des Gemetzels) un film de Roman Polanski in Munich. Finaly I have to cut some late working hours to see this well-reviewed film.
I rarely had that much FUN in cinema for the last years. Roman Polanskis new film (based on a theatre play of Yasmina Reza) is the ultimate projection of our society.
The four characters (a phenomenal cast) are defined perfectly and at the time you think that this "living-room sit-in" could not get any more absurd the most unexpected twist turns this 80 minute encounter of these two couples (played by Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly) into a pure freak show of peeling off layers and layers of social politeness.
The best chamber drama of this years cinema season I think!

Marina Abramovic | The artist is present
The hardest thing is to do something which is close to nothing.
The last years I always have been to the Berlinale film festival watching at least 4 films a day or more. This year I heavily reduced this number to one film a day. This year I actually see something of Berlin as well besides cinemas, busses and the underground.
There is one film I want to pick out: I was especially moved by the new documentary "The artist is present" about Marina Abramovic and her preparation for her major retrospective of her work, in the museum or modern art in New York from March to May 2012. I am not very much a fan of performance art, but this film in particular has taught me to give this certain form of art at least a chance.
Very pure, very touching, extraordinary moving. Her work is radical but the piece at the MOMA is beyond radical. In my point of view she transformed the most meaningful expression of us humans into a piece of art: LOOKING SOMEONE INTO HIS EYES AND BYOND THEM.

eine sekunde von mir
A short PREVIEW of my music video for Poenitsch&Jakopic was published today on youtube. I made an experimental music video for their song "eine Sekunde von mir" (one second of mine) from their brand new album HERZTON (heart tune). Filmed with my NIKON D7000, edited with Premiere and After Effects, made with love, ideas, sweat, overnight rendering sessions and lots of seconds of mine!

over your cities grass will grow
We all know Anselm Kiefer – if you don't know him, get to know him.
A documentary about his work was released in theaters last week: OVER YOUR CITIES GRASS WILL GROW SOPHIE FIENNES – the british director – completed an outstanding job here.
Architecture, Painting, Installation and Landscape melt and transform into an artistic synthesis. The film is spectacular. Everything just fits. The images (REMKO SCHNORR) the editing (ETHEL SHEPHERD) and especially the sounddesign (RANKO PAUKOVIC)... It puts Anselm Kiefer and his work into the light of beauty where it belongs.
Poetic observation – monumental thinking – a work of beauty in any terms.
Some days ago, Anselm Kiefer announced he wants to buy a nuclear power plant that has been taken out of service in Germany. I am full of curiosity about this controversy artwork...

Let's go into the future
Today my personal hero will be in town. And I will meet her.
I am following Miranda Julys work since many, many years and fell in love with her art at first sight. She is the best example for me, that it is possible to work in many different genres and be as successful in one area as in others. She is a performance artist SLASH filmmaker SLASH actress SLASH writer SLASH artist in general. She and her work had become very popular over the last years and I believe it is very difficult to remain grounded with all ballyhoo...
I still like her work and I worship her way of thinking and creating. Miranda July has a very unique style and I hope she is able to keep it that way.
Today she is presenting her new feature film THE FUTURE in Munich. I saw THE FUTURE at the Berlinale Film Festival earlier this year already and I was impressed how she sketches the lostness of our 30-something generation. She draws a perfect line between weird scenery and very genuine situations at the same time.
But see for yourself. For example tonight at the MONOPOL Cinema in Munich at 19:00. Miranda will be there as well.
PS: Her brand new book came out last week IT CHOOSES YOU. I am very curious about that one. You can get a copy here already.
